"But you are a chosen generation, a kingly
priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his
virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: "
1 Peter 2:9
Saint Peter names all baptized Catholics part of a
"Royal priesthood," but what does this mean for us practically, and
especially during this holy, penitential season of Lent, as we prepare for the
Resurrection of Our Lord. You're invited to a talk by Father James Fryar, FSSP,
on how we can live as laity this "priesthood" in a deeper and more
fruitful way, drawing on the graces of our Baptism and especially the powers
and duties conferred by the sacrament of Confirmation. The talk will be
followed by a time for questions and answers and simple refreshments.
Father James Fryar, FSSP is a priest of the Priestly
Fraternity of Saint Peter, an order established by Pope Saint John Paul II
1988. He is establishing a parish in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles that will
be the newest apostolate of the FSSP. He has conducted numerous pilgrimages and
retreats. Sponsored by Una Voce of Ventura and Saint Mary Magdalen parish. For
