"The Principle" by Catholic author, Dr. Robert Sugenis, says that it is a message of hope for the human race and that this movie will be one of the most astounding you will ever see. Ultimate questions about our place in the universe are addressed by the leading cosmologists in the world. Empirical studies support the theory that our home, Earth, is the center of the universe!
Quotes from Chicago area religious during movie launch in October:
"Wow! I couldn't stop watching it. It raises important questions and at least opens dialogue that has huge theological implications. The importance of the human person and the unimaginably enormous love of God is at the very least considered again after seeing this film." Rev. Joe Jablonski, St. Joseph Church, Chicago, IL
“…very engaging and it does an admirable job of introducing a vast amount of material from the last 400 years of the unfolding history of astronomy and cosmology. I would certainly recommend it toothers.” Rev. John Kartje, Mundelein Seminary
“I found this documentary beautiful and engaging, enlightening and encouraging. Faith will always be faith, but in an age which so respects science, I think that this production may help people be open to the gift of faith.” Rev. Kevin Feeney, Northwestern University
“Visually, it’s very entertaining. As a Catholic mom, as a Christian, I love what the film is trying to do…I wanted to see more.” Dawn Meadows Dixon of Relevant Radio on The Principle

Homily - Second Sunday after Epiphany - January 18, 2015
Rom. 12:6-16; Jn. 2:1-11
During the Christmas Season, we recall that what has existed before all time, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, the Son of God, has now been revealed in time. What has been revealed comes up over and over again.

Homily - Feast of the Holy Family - January 11, 2015
Col. 3:12-17; Lk. 2:42-52
So great is the mystery of our Lord’s birth and incarnation that the Church gives us an entire season to reflect on its meaning. At Christmas, we realize that what has existed from before all time, the Son of God, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, has been revealed to us in human form. Similarly, Epiphany means manifestation.

Homily - Saint Rose of Lima Latin Mass - December 29th, 2014
Homily of Fr. Earl Eggleston at St. Rose of Lima on 12/29/2014
“The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a
field which a man having found, hid it, and for joy on account of it goes and
sells all that he has, and buys that field.” (Mt. 13:44)
The Holy Eucharist is our true treasure, the heavenly banquet
here on earth, the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary, the Holy Mass. The 19th
century catholic convert, hymn writer and theologian, Father Frederick Faber,
captures my sentiments best when he said:
“The Mass is the most beautiful thing this side of heaven.” The form of
Mass known to Father Faber is that which we celebrate this evening, here at St.
Rose of Lima and increasingly in many other parishes, religious houses and
chapels throughout the world.

Homily - Circumcision of Our Lord - January 1, 2015
Tit. 2:11-14; Lk. 2:21
Last
week, I mentioned that one of the ways of seeing this Christmas season is that
the circle around our Lord becomes wider and wider. It begins with Jesus, Mary and Joseph, then
the Shepherds, Simeon and Anna, the Magi, and, finally, all the world in His
cross and resurrection. Another way of
seeing this season is how deeply the Lord has entered our humanity by His birth
and incarnation. First, He is born in
time. Next Sunday, the Feast of the Holy
Name, He is given a name. When we know
someone’s name, we are able to know them, to enter into a relationship with
them. The following Sunday, the Feast of
the Holy Family, we reflect that so completely has the Lord entered into
humanity that He becomes the member of a family.
Homily - Sunday within the Octave of Christmas - December 28, 2014
Gal. 4:1-7; Lk. 2:33-40
So
great is the mystery of our Lord’s birth and incarnation that the Church gives
us an entire season to reflect on its meaning.
What we see in the readings of this season is that the circle around our
Lord becomes larger and larger. It
begins with Mary and Joseph at the manger, and the shepherds, the poor in
spirit who respond with awe and wonder to spiritual things, and ends with our
Lord’s baptism at the Jordan, where He disappears into the crowd of humanity which
seeks God, and begins His earthly ministry.
