Easter Egg Hunt - Update
Due to time constraints, the Easter Egg Hunt has moved to the Camarillo Community Center park. There will be two different age groups for the hunt,1-5 and 6-10. Families wanting to participate should bring 5 candy-filled plastic eggs per child. Deliver them before the 1pm Easter Mass to Anna Zalesak in the museum wing between 12:15 and 12:50. Eggs will be hidden by volunteers just before the end of Mass. At 3pm we'll gather by the park playground (across from 1014 N. Modesto Ave.) to hear an explanation of the rules of the hunt as treat bags are passed out. Parents are asked to assist with supervision & clean-up. Contact Anna Zalesak if you'd like to volunteer to hide eggs 805-415-3795.
Catholic Motorcycle Riders Group
Our Catholic Riders Group with many members from the Traditional Latin Mass Community at St. Mary Magdalen wish to extend an invitation to other riders & passengers to join our rides. Some rides are short (a few hours) and some are two day overnighters. We have done a Rosary Run with a decade of the Rosary said while visiting churches on the way, starting at St. Mary Magdalen and ending at Mission San Buenaventura. We have future plans to make a two day trip to visit some of the Missions including Carmel. View photos from some of the trips in the Santa Monica Mountains nearby to long jaunts to Monterey and to Colorado. Our next two rides are listed below. If you are interested in receiving notices about upcoming rides and possibly joining us on some of them, please contact the Ride Master at latin.mass.smm@gmail.com

Father Joseph Scerbo - Requiem Aeternam Dona Ei
Please pray for the repose of the soul for Fr. Joe Scerbo S.A. He died March 19th at 2:10 am from complications related to pancreatic cancer. While Fr. Joe fought this running battle over the past few years, he took it upon himself to learn the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. His effort was brought to fruition for a time at St. Paschal Baylon Parish in Thousand Oaks, CA. He presided over a monthly offering of the Traditional Latin Mass until such time as it was agreed upon to concentrate all efforts entirely in support of the TLM community at St. Mary Magdalen. Possessed of an over-sized Franciscan heart, Fr. Joe was known and loved for his extraordinary efforts to bring the Gospel and the sacraments to as many people as could be reached during all hours of the day.
The Vigil and Funeral Mass for Fr. Joe have not yet been set, but they will take place at Saint Paschal Baylon Church next week, as the head of Fr. Joe’s order, the Franciscans of Graymoor, will be flying out from New York for the services. More information will be posted when the arrangements have been confirmed.

Video Recording - The Royal Priesthood of the Laity - Fr. Fryar
The video of the Lenten talk by Fr. Fryar on the "The Royal Priesthood of the Laity" is now available. It's a great talk about the priesthood in general - and how to have more perfect participation at Mass. Una Voce Ventura and St Mary Magdalen parish sponsored this talk by Fr. James Fryar, on March 10, 2015. Father gives a beautiful talk on the Ministerial priesthood and the Royal Priesthood of the Laity, talking about the ways that we can cultivate "perfect" participation in the Sacrifice of the Mass as laity with our distinctive role and dignity. The more we fade away in this offering, the more Christ can come through in the offering of the sacrifice of the Mass. Video by Ron Lawson

The Hidden Treasure: Holy Mass by St. Leonard of Port Maurice
The Hidden Treasure. This book written by St. Leonard who lived from 1676-1751, describes the great spiritual power of the Mass, how it holds back the wrath of God, its wonderful eternal and temporal benefits and several excellent ways to pray at Mass. Hidden Treasure is the prototype book on the Mass for all other books on the same subject; others basically repeat what this small book contains.
Suffused with saintly unction, is itself a rare "treasure," and one, let us hope, that will never be "hidden" to the world, but known and studied and applied universally by Catholics everywhere. When a Saint writes, one truly senses this fact from the penetration of the words and the fervor of the admonition. And for this alone The Hidden Treasure is most worthy of the contemporary reader's meditative consideration. But, returning to print as it does, during this time of great change in the Church, it should serve both as a guide to priests and bishops in charge of liturgical reform and as a sober reminder to all of the great inspiring power of the ancient Latin Mass. Through St. Leonard's intercession and by the persuasive power of The Hidden Treasure, may those in charge of liturgical revisions keep ever in mind the inner nature and devotional power of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. And may Holy Mother the Church ever continue to offer Mass in the ancient Latin rite that has come down to us from the earliest centuries in virtually its present form.

Please pray for the repose of Father Michael Bell
Please pray for the repose of Father Michael Bell!
Notice received Sunday, March 1st at 10 am from a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle in Pismo Beach: A woman "who was at Fr. Bell's bedside last night, minutes before he passed away, stayed with him, read from the 1962 missal the prayers for the dying, the gospel of the Passion and Resurrection from St. John's gospel. She said he was very peaceful. We have another intercessor for the Traditional Mass helping us!"
On the occasion of Fr. Bell's 50th Anniversary as Priest in July of 2011, members of our Latin Mass choir (formerly at Mission San Buenaventura and now at Saint Mary Magdalen) joined with the traditional choir from Mission San Juan Bautista to sing a Missa Cantata with Fr. Bell.
